OpenSearch throws an illegal_argument_exception ([from] parameter cannot be negative) when loading categories in which all products shared the same price. Quality patch ACSD-65913 for magento/module-elasticsearch applies to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce 2.4.7 to 2.4.8-p5.

Issue

OpenSearch throws an illegal_argument_exception ([from] parameter cannot be negative) when loading categories in which all products shared the same price.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install OpenSearch version 2.19.1 and set it as the default search engine. 1. Configure the Price product attribute to be visible in Layered Navigation: 1. Visible in Advanced Search: Yes 1. Comparable on Storefront: Yes 1. Use in Layered Navigation: Filterable (with results) 1. Go to Stores > Configuration > Catalog > Catalog > Layered Navigation. Set Price Navigation Step Calculation to Automatic (equalize product counts). 1. Create a category with six products that all have the same price: 1. SKU: product_super_0-1-1-1, Price: $150 1. SKU: product_super_0-1-1, Price: $48 1. SKU: product_super_0-1, Price: $48 1. SKU: product_super_0, Price: $48 1. SKU: product_super_0-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1, Price: $48 1. SKU: product_super_0-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1, Price: $48 1. Run the following command: bin/magento indexer:reindex 1. Open the category page. You'll see an error: [from] parameter cannot be negative, found [-1]

Adobe's page lists 2.4.7 - 2.4.8 as compatible; the versions below are resolved from the current QPT constraints and are the ones the tool will offer.

Adobe scheduled the permanent fix for 2.4.9.

Install

Install the Quality Patches Tool with composer require magento/quality-patches, apply the prerequisites listed for all files applicable to your distribution and version first, then run vendor/bin/magento-patches apply ACSD-65913. On Cloud, add ACSD-65913 under stage.build.QUALITY_PATCHES in .magento.env.yaml.

For cweagans/composer-patches, choose a compatible version below and download the bundle. Copy its ACSD-65913/ folder into patches/composer/, merge composer.patches.json into composer.json, then run composer install. Bundle prerequisites the same way and list them first. Paths are relative to each package root, using the default -p1 level. Prefer local files when configuring composer-patches; a remote URL can change.
