Issue

Product videos do not render correctly on configurable product detail pages when the URL includes pre-selected swatch options, resulting in the display of a static image instead of the video.

Steps to reproduce

1. Navigate to Stores > Attributes > Product. 1. Select the Color attribute and edit it. 1. Update the following settings: 1. Set Catalog Input Type for Store Owner to Visual Swatch. 1. Set Update Product Preview Image to Yes. 1. Create a few options for this attribute. 1. Create a new category and add a new configurable product to it, using the Color attribute. 1. Add a single random image to the parent product. 1. Edit the newly created configurable child products and add a video to their media gallery: 1. Click Add Video and use the test video URL: https://vimeo.com/12860646. 1. Save the product, clear the cache, and re-index the store. 1. Open the newly created product in the storefront, select one of the swatch options, and confirm that the video loads correctly with the player button displayed. 1. The video should load as expected, and the player button should appear. 1. Now, right-click one of the swatch options, select Inspect, and locate the attribute id and option id. Copy the product URL and append the following to the end of it: www.product-url.com/producit-test#attribute_id=option_id. This will pre-select the swatch option. Open the updated URL in a new window.

Adobe's page lists 2.4.4 - 2.4.7-p3 as compatible; the versions below are resolved from the current QPT constraints and are the ones the tool will offer.

Adobe scheduled the permanent fix for 2.4.8.

Install

Install the Quality Patches Tool with composer require magento/quality-patches, apply the prerequisites listed for all files applicable to your distribution and version first, then run vendor/bin/magento-patches apply ACSD-62758. On Cloud, add ACSD-62758 under stage.build.QUALITY_PATCHES in .magento.env.yaml.

For cweagans/composer-patches, choose a compatible version below and download the bundle. Copy its ACSD-62758/ folder into patches/composer/, merge composer.patches.json into composer.json, then run composer install. Bundle prerequisites the same way and list them first. Paths are relative to each package root, using the default -p1 level. Prefer local files when configuring composer-patches; a remote URL can change.
